Point of Pride is excited to share that 57 recipients have been selected for the 2025 cycle of the Thrive Fund!
Launched in June 2024, the Thrive Fund provides small grants to trans people to help cover a wide range of gender-affirming needs. In this year’s cohort, the most frequently requested support was for the fees associated with legal name and ID changes, reflecting the significant financial barriers many of us face in securing the documentation we need.
The next most common requests were retail purchases that support daily affirmation and well-being, including at-home IPL devices, prosthetics, and wigs. Recipients also sought support for professional caregiving services following surgery, medical tattooing, and other types of healthcare that lets us thrive.
In total, $58,000 in financial support has been awarded to help our community members access the care they deserve.
There were a total of 486 applicants this cycle.
Reviewing these applications and choosing recipients is an incredibly challenging process, as our organization has limited funding, and every applicant is truly deserving of the care they need.
There were 57 recipients this cycle.
"Whether it’s getting a wig that helps someone feel seen, vocal lessons that let them speak with confidence, or a few hours of caregiving support after surgery—these are the kinds of needs that often go overlooked," says Abby, Care Coordinator. "The Thrive Fund fills in those gaps, making transition feel a little more possible, a little more joyful."
"Transition not a single path, a timeline, or set of steps—it looks different for every trans person," said Aydian Dowling, Chief Advancement Officer and co-founder. "Through the Thrive Fund, we’re honoring that diversity of experience and giving people the freedom to transition in ways that feel right for them."

None of this would be possible without our generous donors, Community Grantmaking Fellows, volunteers, and supporters.
"Our community makes everything we do possible," says Jeff Main, Executive Director and co-founder. "Thank you for helping us create a world where every trans person can access the care they need to thrive."
Applications for the next cycle will be accepted online beginning fall 2026. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for support, please visit our program’s webpage to learn more.
