2026 HRT Access Fund: Recipients Awarded $340,000+ | Point of Pride

Point of Pride is thrilled to announce that 153 recipients have been selected to receive gender-affirming hormone therapy support through the 2026 HRT Access Fund. This year, we’re awarding $342,000 in support, a 47% increase over last year’s cycle.

Each recipient will receive at 18+ months of comprehensive care, which includes telehealth visits with a trans-centered care team, lab work and monitoring four times per year with Uber vouchers for transportation, and full coverage of prescription costs. Recipients will also be eligible to apply for Renewal Awards, which can help cover future healthcare expenses.

Applicants

There were a total of 850 applicants this cycle.

• Applicants ranged in age from 18 to 68 years old.
• 50% of applicants are people of color.
• 49% of applicants are living with a disability or chronic illness
• 52% of applicants have dealt with discrimination from a healthcare provider, either currently or in the past
• 68% of applicants have dealt with homelessness/housing insecurity, either currently or in the past
• 63% of applicants live in states considered high-risk for anti-trans legislation

Reviewing these applications and choosing recipients is an incredibly challenging process, as our organization has limited funding, and every applicant is truly deserving of the care they need.

Recipients

There were 153 recipients this cycle. In line with our guiding principle of equity, our grantmaking committee prioritized individuals living in states or facing circumstances where access to gender-affirming healthcare is limited or currently being challenged.

• Recipients ranged in age from 18 to 64 years old. 50% are between the ages 18-24.
• 55% of recipients are people of color.
• 63% of recipients are living with a disability or chronic illness
• 65% of recipients have dealt with discrimination from a healthcare provider, either currently or in the past
• 79% of recipients have dealt with homelessness/housing insecurity, either currently or in the past
• 77% of recipients live in states considered high-risk for anti-trans legislation

"I'll finally be able to just breathe," said Elizabeth, a grant recipient whose parents stopped financially supporting her healthcare when she came out as trans. "I don't think there's a better feeling than belonging."

"Hormone replacement therapy is just one part of the care trans people may need to thrive. While there is no right or wrong way to be trans, HRT can be what helps many people feel more at home in their bodies," said Jeff Main, Executive Director. "We will forever strive to make sure that as many trans people as possible can afford the lifesaving care they need."
