Nurture your well-being
Self-care after applying for financial aid

Thank you for taking the courageous step of applying for support through Point of Pride’s financial aid programs.

However you're feeling right now—relieved, anxious, hopeful, uncertain—it’s all valid. The process of sharing your story may bring up a lot of emotions, and your willingness to trust us with your truth is deeply appreciated. This page is here to offer gentle, optional self-care ideas to help you care for yourself in this moment.

Breathe deeply

Take a moment to pause and connect with your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose, letting your belly expand. Exhale slowly through your mouth.

Need a little guidance? Point of Pride has designed meditations just for trans folks.

Move your body

Engage in gentle movement, whether it's a short walk, stretching, or dancing to your favorite song.

Nourish your body

Check-in with your body's needs. Have you eaten recently? Had some water? Maybe treat yourself to a favorite snack or a comforting, nutritious meal.

Rest

If you're feeling drained, give yourself permission to take a nap or rest in a quiet space. You might also say or think one of these positive affirmations:

  • I did something brave today.
  • I am worthy of care.
  • I am not alone.
