Meet Alex

Alex (they/them) is a full-time college student in Texas, balancing a demanding schedule with caring for their mother, who has stage 4 cancer. On top of school and caregiving, Alex faces significant barriers to accessing HRT, from hostile state laws and discrimination to a lack of affirming providers nearby. Without reliable transportation or flexible job opportunities, it has been nearly impossible for them to afford and access the care they need.

Receiving 12 months of HRT support will help Alex live authentically, improve their mental health, and bring much-needed stability. “This grant allows me to focus on school and caring for my mom without sacrificing my own well-being,” they shared. For Alex, this support is not just about access to medication—it’s a step toward balance, resilience, and hope for the future.
