Avery (he/him) is preparing for bottom surgery and receiving electrolysis as part of his surgical care. Due to medical issues, Avery is currently unable to work and relies on disability payments to cover basic necessities like food and rent. With limited resources, affording hair removal services has been out of reach.
“This procedure means everything to me, helping me live more comfortably and confidently in my body,” he shares. Receiving financial support for electrolysis lifts a major burden, bringing Avery one step closer to life-changing surgery and the future he’s been working toward.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal services are often deemed cosmetic and therefore not covered by health insurance plans, even if such services are medical prerequisites for a covered surgery. For people who cannot afford hair removal, they are stuck without options to move forward with their healthcare needs.
What is the impact of this care on the recipient’s life?
After completing hair removal, these folks are able to move forward with their surgeries. In itself, this often leads to a more positive emotional well-being, increased confidence, and more.
