Meet Eirene

Eirene (they/them) is an agender person from Kentucky currently facing housing insecurity. Without access to transportation, traveling for care is nearly impossible, and no local providers offer hormone replacement therapy. Even getting to the store can be a challenge, let alone attending distant medical appointments.

Eirene shared that 12 months of HRT support would be life-changing. With Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming care soon disappearing in their state, this award provides stability and hope. “It would mean saving thousands of dollars and reducing the burden of traveling counties away for care,” they explained.
