Jaecee (he/him) is a 24-year-old disabled trans man seeking HRT. He lives in financial hardship due to a series of traumatic events within the last three years, and has dealt with housing insecurity as a result. Jaecee's health insurance denied access to trans-related care. As a result, he has been living in a shell of who he really is. Jaecee loves to help others anytime he can. He loves spending time with friends and family. Kids are most important to him. He is excited to start HRT and see the changes so "I can begin to see who I know I should've been from the beginning. I'm ready for the changes so I can be more comfortable within my own body."

Jaecee shared, "I feel so much happier with my life and I feel more like I've always felt. I feel happy when others notice it and tell me. [Access to care] is everything. It has given me more motivation than I've ever had and I feel more comfortable in all situations than I have. More people see me as the man I am now and even people that have known me my whole life don't recognize me."

Testosterone+ refers to the gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy (HRT) methods that some trans men, trans masc, and non-binary people take that result in physical changes which align with their gender identity. Every person's preferences and personal healthcare needs vary, so this can include oral medications, injections, and transdermal patches.
How accessible is it for trans folks to receive this care?
For trans folks who live in states most impacted by anti-trans healthcare legislation, it can be extremely difficult to find a knowledgeable, trans-affirming provider as well as access prescription medication. Many insurance plans do not cover HRT. For trans folks without insurance coverage, the ongoing out-of-pocket expense can be challenging.
