Meet Jules

Jules' story
HRT Access Fund recipient
Jules (he/they) is a 23-year-old disabled trans person eager to resume hormone replacement therapy after months of being cut off from care. When Jules was forced to leave their previous residence, they lost both housing and employment, which made it impossible to continue affording regular HRT. Since then, despite months of job searching, career coaching, and crowdfunding, financial barriers have kept Jules from the care they need.
Outside of these challenges, Jules has a deep love for animals and frequently rescues and rehabilitates strays, either fostering them personally or transporting them to shelters. They also enjoy spending time in nature with their husband, as well as creating art centered on fashion.
After four consecutive years on hormones, Jules describes the withdrawal from treatment as making them very sick. Returning to HRT represents not just improved health, but also relief from one of the most significant emotional and financial obstacles they face.
