Kayden's story

HRT Access Fund recipient

Kayden (he/him) is a 24-year-old transmasc person who has been on and off HRT for more than five years. Each time he found stability, circumstances outside his control disrupted his care. After becoming disabled two years ago, Kayden’s situation grew even more difficult: he could no longer work or fully care for himself, and he had to re-learn how to navigate the world while feeling disconnected from his own sense of self.

Kayden expresses his creativity through many outlets, especially sewing—a skill he’s practiced since the age of four. He is also active on social media, where he strives to share hope, understanding, and community with others who are disabled.

Today, Kayden is excited to finally stabilize on HRT again. “I started to lose hope, but I can already feel that spark coming back,” he shared. For him, returning to care means reconnecting with his authentic self and reclaiming a sense of wholeness he hasn’t felt in years.
