Meet Lonan

Lonan's story
HRT Access Fund recipient
Lonan (he/him) is a young trans man navigating multiple barriers to accessing HRT. After being kicked out by his MAGA parents, he was placed back on their insurance so they could monitor his care. Medicaid does not cover the telehealth service he hoped to use, and no local providers are willing to prescribe testosterone to new patients. The closest option is in Denver, but without a car or funds for travel, that remains out of reach.
Currently homeless and relying on Medicaid and SNAP, Lonan is preparing to begin college while managing limited resources. For him, HRT is about both survival and hope. “My voice is one of the worst dysphoric things about myself,” he shared. “Being able to go on testosterone would not only give me gender euphoria, but also help my anxiety about being trans.”
