Meet Mattie

Mattie (he/him) has been pursuing gender-affirming care since coming out in 2021, but the journey has been filled with obstacles, including losing insurance, becoming unable to work due to disability, and a lack of accessible providers in his area.

An animal lover, Mattie cares for what he calls his “mini zoo” at home with his partner. Recently, he’s also discovered a passion for digital art, which has brought a new outlet for creativity and joy. For Mattie, accessing HRT is about reclaiming himself. “I feel so lucky to be given this chance and finally begin the process of feeling connected to who I see in the mirror,” he shared.
