Meet Melody

Melody (she/her) is a 26-year-old disabled trans woman who has dreamed of living authentically since she was 14. Financial struggles, lack of insurance, and a lack of accessible providers in her state have long kept affirming care out of reach. With support, Melody has begun to heal from years of trauma and dysphoria and feels hopeful about building the life she’s always envisioned.

Quiet and introverted at first, Melody has a bubbly energy once she feels comfortable. With the support of her girlfriend and chosen family, she’s found spaces where she can be herself. She loves playing Pokémon and watching videos online, and now looks forward to the day she can see her reflection with joy. “I’m most excited to look in the mirror and feel happy that the image there reflects my true self,” she shared.
