Meet Miah

Miah (she/her) is a 19-year-old college student and the first in her family to begin HRT, navigating the process largely on her own. Living in Alabama, where affirming providers are scarce, she has relied on Plume and has been paying out of pocket using her school savings. Balancing student loans, grants, and daily expenses, she worries about how long she’ll be able to continue treatment without more support.

Despite these challenges, Miah remains determined to keep moving forward. “Receiving 12 months of HRT support would mean stability, peace of mind, and the chance to focus on school and my growth without constantly worrying about how I’ll afford my care,” she shared.
