Micah's story

HRT Access Fund recipient

Micah (he/him) is a 30-year-old trans man who came out at 18 but faced years of safety concerns and financial struggles that kept medical transition out of reach. He has switched doctors, traveled hours from home, and even moved states in search of affirming care. Chronic illness has further limited his ability to work, even as doctors told him that HRT could help ease his symptoms.

Today, Micah is a stay-at-home parent who homeschools his child and sells handmade jewelry and paintings. For him, accessing testosterone means relief from chronic illness, the chance to finally see himself reflected in the mirror, and the possibility of top surgery in the future. “Being on testosterone will let me fully enjoy being in public with my family,” he shared.
