Meet Milo

Milo's story
HRT Access Fund recipient
Milo (he/they) is a stay-at-home parent to a four-month-old, living in a conservative state where finding affirming providers has been a constant struggle. His last primary care doctor refused to prescribe HRT and told him to seek care hours away in Indianapolis, while his daughter’s provider gave misleading information about the safety of testosterone and breastfeeding. Without reliable transportation and limited to a single income-based health network, Milo has been left without safe, local options.
Financially, Milo cannot afford HRT at all right now, and the pregnancy and postpartum period have been devastating for his dysphoria. “I want to be recognized in public as her father, and I want her baby photos to reflect who I really am,” he shared. Receiving 12 months of support would allow Milo to move forward in his transition and feel more at home in both his body and his role as a parent.
