Meet Mori

Mori's story
HRT Access Fund recipient
Mori (he/him) is a nonbinary transmasc person from Mississippi navigating financial and family barriers to care. Raised by a single mother alongside three siblings, he has long faced financial insecurity, and while his father is supportive, his mother is not. The only HRT clinic nearby is hours away, and without a car, access has been impossible. This fall, Mori plans to move into university housing, where he hopes to begin testosterone in a safer environment.
Balancing school expenses, groceries, and several prescriptions, Mori already struggles to cover basic needs. Asking family for financial help isn’t an option. “Receiving 12 months of HRT support would be liberating,” he shared. With this assistance, he could begin his transition without debt or guilt, and much sooner than he imagined.
