Sarah

Sarah's story

HRT Access Fund recipient

Sarah (she/her) lives in Florida, where the current political climate has made it nearly impossible to access HRT. After coming out, her wife ended their marriage and she was forced to leave home. For 11 years before that, Sarah was a stay-at-home parent, and now she faces the challenge of re-entering the workforce as a trans woman over 40 with a long employment gap.

A member of the Mohegan tribe, Sarah relies on a modest monthly check to cover her bills, barely keeping her afloat while she searches for work. For her, receiving HRT support would mean not only easing a heavy financial burden but also finding peace and stability during this uncertain chapter of her life.

Sarah shared, “Receiving HRT support would ease my financial burden and afford me some peace, while I continue seeking employment.”
