Meet Silva

Silva (she/her) has dreamed of starting HRT, but living in a rural area with limited transportation and few clinics has made access impossible. The nearest clinic to her has since closed, and the cost of care has remained far out of reach.

A year ago, Silva was a full-time student focused on her studies, but after a sudden move and difficult circumstances, she is now unemployed and facing limited opportunities due to transportation barriers and lack of work experience. Despite these challenges, she has never stopped hoping for the chance to begin her medical transition.

Silva shared, “If my application were to be accepted, I’d feel like it would save me. Even if it’s just for a year, just seeing those little changes in my body would save me.”

Now, Silva looks forward to taking steps toward the life she has always wanted, with hope and determination guiding her forward.
