Tyler's story

HRT Access Fund recipient

Tyler (he/him) is a trans man currently without insurance and zero income. With a thin resume and difficulty finding work, he is also struggling to secure stable housing and is relying on friends for temporary places to stay. Without reliable income or coverage, accessing HRT is effectively impossible through normal channels.

The lack of hormones is taking a severe toll on Tyler’s physical and mental health. After a surgery, he reports having very low energy and fears developing osteoporosis. Relationships have suffered, and he often can hardly get out of bed. Tyler is urgently seeking any pathway to care and is willing to work with any provider who will accept him, not only queer-specific clinics. “Getting my HRT is simply life or death at this point. I am desperate and will take any provider,” he shared.
