Victoria's story

HRT Access Fund recipient

Victoria (she/her) is a 51-year-old intersex trans woman in Mississippi whose insurance changed without notice earlier this year, dropping much of her prescription and medical coverage. On disability since 2012, Victoria receives $872 a month to cover phone, car insurance, gas, food, and medicine, so affording her hormones has become extremely difficult.

Victoria has already had one surgery since 2023 and is seeking help not only for ongoing hormone costs but also for information or support toward breast augmentation. Born intersex and raised as a boy by her parents, she has always known she is a woman. Receiving a grant would lift a huge financial burden and make it possible for her to stay on essential medication and continue caring for her health.
