Development Officer

Point of Pride is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves the international transgender community through direct service programs. From 2016-2022, we were volunteer-operated by a trans-led Board of Directors. Over the last few years, Point of Pride has grown exponentially and is staffing a team to reflect the current size—and future ambitions—of our work.  Now, we are seeking a full-time staff member to join our team: a Development Officer.

The Development Officer plays an important supporting role in advancing Point of Pride’s fundraising strategy and donor engagement efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Advancement Officer and working closely with the Executive Director, this position focuses on executing fundraising initiatives, stewarding donors, supporting campaigns, and strengthening development systems.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Partner in fundraising execution. You’ll work closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and Executive Director to support annual fundraising goals and strategy implementation. You will help prepare materials, coordinate outreach efforts, and ensure fundraising initiatives move forward efficiently and effectively.
  • Support and implement fundraising campaigns. You’ll help design and drive strategies that support giving at all levels, including one-time, recurring, and planned giving via online and direct mail channels. In conjunction with the Executive Director and Chief Advancement Officer, you’ll assist with corporate partnership outreach. You’ll support the preparation and coordination of donor communications for high-level and strategic opportunities, including drafting correspondence, impact updates, and proposal materials. You may also assist with grant-related materials, reporting, and proposal coordination as needed.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong donor relationships. You’ll strengthen and evolve our donor engagement strategies while identifying opportunities to attract and retain supporters.
  • Contribute ideas to grow and diversify our donor community. We value curiosity and initiative. You’ll have opportunities to bring forward ideas for attracting and engaging new donor audiences, testing creative fundraising approaches, and strengthening long-term donor relationships.
  • Strengthen our systems. You’ll help maintain accurate donor records in our CRM and across our fundraising tech stack, ensuring gifts and engagement touchpoints are tracked consistently.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience contributing to fundraising efforts and supporting revenue goals in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Has experience supporting donor stewardship (experience with major donors or foundations is a plus, but not required)
  • Possesses excellent, culturally competent communication skills and enjoys building authentic relationships
  • Has an understanding of diverse communities, especially the issues affecting trans people, elders, unhoused people, and people living with disabilities or chronic illness
  • Collaborates well with others, but can also operate autonomously as a self-directed problem solver

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has 1-3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, nonprofit operations, communications, or related fields
  • Has experience contributing to fundraising efforts across multiple revenue streams (such as individual donors, grants, and/or corporate support)
  • Is experienced using Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Is familiar with project management tools or software – knowledge of Basecamp a plus
  • Is tech savvy and enjoys learning new technologies – knowledge of HubSpot a plus

Details and benefits

  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with funding currently secured through the first year, with the intention to continue the role long-term pending organizational needs and funding. We anticipate reviewing continuation plans approximately 9 months into the role.
  • Salary range: $62,500
  • Full-time, fully remote
  • Choice of computer
  • Healthcare benefits
  • Tuition reimbursement benefit
  • 401(k) with match
  • 35 days off each year (total sum of holidays, floating holidays, and PTO days)
  • Parental leave
  • Summer Fridays (half-days between Memorial Day and Labor Day) and Winter Slowdown (off between December 26–January 1)

We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply—we’d love to hear from you.
