FAQ

"When can I apply?"
The application window to join our charity team for the LA Marathon runs from October through January each year, or until all spots are filled. Complete the interest form on this page to receive an invitation to apply as soon as spots are available!
"How much money do I need to raise?"
Participants are responsible for raising at least $2,500 USD. However, you won’t be doing it alone! Our team will support you every step of the way with fundraising toolkits, amplifying your content, and engaging our network of subscribers to help you reach your goal.
"Do I automatically get a spot on the team for hitting the fundraising goal?"
Participants need to apply, and be selected to join the team, before they are granted a spot. Bibs to participate on our team are limited and in high demand.
"Can I join the team if I've already secured my entry?"
Yes! You most certainly can support trans-inclusive health and be a part of Team Point of Pride, even if you’ve already secured a spot in an event. Please email marathon@pointofpride.org to learn more.
"Where does the money go?"
So glad you asked! Your support helps secure a future for transgender people in need by funding gender-affirming care. To date, Point of Pride has awarded $3,657,750 in financial aid and provided gender-affirming support to 29,500 trans people in all 50 states and around the world. Learn more about our impact
"Do I have to be trans to run for Team Point of Pride?"
No! While our team prioritizes applicants who are trans or gender diverse, athletes of all genders, backgrounds, and fitness levels are welcome and encouraged to apply!
"Can I fundraise for Point of Pride in another race?"
Yes! Athletes can fundraise and represent Point of Pride's mission in other marathons, half-marathons, 5Ks, and more. Email marathon@pointofpride.org to learn more!
