Trans Day of Visibility: Turning Pride into Action

Statement

Trans Day of Visibility on March 31 is both a celebration and a reminder. It’s a time to recognize the joy, strength and contributions of transgender and nonbinary people, and to acknowledge that there’s still work to do to make sure everyone can live openly and safely as themselves.

At Point of Pride, we think of visibility as a starting point, not the end goal. What matters is what comes next.

That’s why we focus on action. Through our 5th Annual Stream-a-Thon for Trans Health with Mercury Stardust, we’re working to raise $1 million to help more people access essential, life-saving care. We’re supporting trans people impacted by anti-trans legislation nationwide, including people in Kansas, where we’ve helped cover urgent needs like transportation to medical appointments. This year alone, we’ve provided more than 3,500 chest binders worldwide so people can access resources that affirm who they are.

Visibility is important, but it means more when it’s backed by real support.

This Trans Day of Visibility, we’re asking communities, leaders, and allies to show up in ways that feel genuine to them. That could mean supporting a local trans-led organization, speaking out against harmful policies, making a donation, or helping someone get the care they need.

There’s no single way to make a difference, and no action is too small. Together, those efforts add up to something bigger: a future where trans people can live fully, freely and with pride.
