Meet River

River (he/him) is a disabled trans man facing financial and housing instability while supporting his mother, who is undergoing cancer treatment. Living with a transphobic relative and without reliable transportation, River struggles to balance rent, bills, and the cost of HRT. Despite these challenges, he has finally begun to feel comfortable in his body and fears losing access to the care that has brought him peace and happiness.

River shared, “Getting picked to receive a year of HRT means I can continue to pay rent at the house I live at and help my mom during cancer treatment. It also means I can finally be comfortable and happy in my body for the first time in my life.”
