Gender-affirming surgery isn’t just vital healthcare; it’s a turning point that brings safety, confidence, and a renewed sense of possibility in daily life.
In 2025, we awarded $565,000 to 25 recipients.
Transforming Lives Through HRT
Gender-affirming hormone therapy (HRT) is medically necessary, often life-saving, care. Yet it remains out of reach for many due to financial barriers, insurance exclusions, and a lack of accessible providers—issues compounded by rising anti-trans legislation.
Over $233,000 was awarded to 144 recipients. We also extended grant durations from 12 months to 18+ months, ensuring more stability and continuity for our recipients.
Removing Barriers
to Hair Removal
Point of Pride’s Electrolysis Support Program is the first—and, to our knowledge, remains the only—program of its kind, providing direct financial aid for permanent hair removal services including electrolysis and laser.
In 2025, we awarded $301,250 to 140 recipients. Each grant now includes stipends for transportation and pain management, helping recipients get to their appointments and stay comfortable during sessions.
Holistic Community Support
In June 2024, Point of Pride launched the Thrive Fund, a groundbreaking program designed to meet the diverse and unique care needs of the trans community.
In 2025, $116,500 was awarded to 104 recipients towards a range of needs, including legal documentation updates, prosthetics or wigs, voice therapy, at-home IPL hair removal devices, and more.
