Move Your Own Way

How’d you like to push yourself physically and mentally, all while making a powerful difference for the trans community?

MoveYourOwnWay-1

Represent Point of Pride wherever you are—whether it’s a 5K, half marathon, triathlon, cycling event, hiking trek, open-water swim, or something entirely your own. Every step, pedal, or mile you dedicate helps expand access to life-saving care for trans people.

Get started in 3 steps

1. Create your fundraising page

Choose the platform you’re most comfortable with—Facebook FundraisersGoFundMe, or another tool you already use. Don’t have a preference? We recommend GiveLively: it’s secure, has zero transaction fees, and ensures 100% of donations go directly to Point of Pride’s programs.

(Point of Pride is verified on dozens of fundraising platforms. You can often find us by searching our EIN: 81-2185477. Having trouble getting set up? Contact us!)

2. Move for trans healthcare

Set a goal that feels meaningful to you. Maybe it’s finishing your first race, training for a personal best, committing to daily movement for a month, or reclaiming joy in your body.

You might also consider setting a fundraising goal that feels realistic and motivating for you.

3. Share the joy

Fundraising is about connection. Share why you chose to move for this cause—what motivates you, what this challenge represents, or why trans healthcare matters to you personally.

With your network of friends, family, and supporters, you can also uplift the real impact behind your hard work:

  • Trans people finally accessing care they’ve waited years for
  • Relief, dignity, and safety through affirming healthcare
  • Community showing up for each other in tangible ways

Invite others into the story—and let them be part of something bigger.

Let us cheer you on!

Recipient stories

Sharing real stories can help people understand why your fundraiser matters. Below are a few words from our recipients that you’re welcome to share with your community as you fundraise.

  • "Access to HRT feels like taking a deep breath after holding my breath for a long time." —Ayang
  • "It's amazing how much my quality of life has changed. I'm so much less anxious than I was before, I'm way more confident and less foggy and disconnected... I feel like I'm finally experiencing the life that I was missing out on." —Wren
  • "My quality of life has improved so much since receiving this grant. I'm able to express my gender in ways that I was never comfortable with before. Each time I take my HRT, it's a radical act of self care and a reclamation of my own body." —Chandler

Fundraising goals

Every dollar raised helps expand access to life-saving, gender-affirming care. If it’s helpful, here are a few examples of how community support can add up:

  • $5 — Helps cover the cost to ship a gender-affirming garment to a trans young person who needs one.
  • $100 — Helps ship chest binders to trans youth and adults across the country.
  • $500 — Supports permanent hair removal sessions for a trans femme person who otherwise couldn’t afford them.
  • $750 — Helps provide chest binders or shapewear to trans people around the world.
  • $1,000+ — Contributes to life-changing financial assistance for a trans person seeking gender-affirming surgery.
  • $2,500+ — Helps provide a year of telehealth care and prescription medications for a trans person accessing HRT.
  • $8,000+ — Can fully fund a surgical procedure for a Surgery Fund recipient.
Every contribution—large or small—plays a role in making care possible.
