Join us for our 5th Anniversary 5K: A Virtual Walk/Run/Roll Fundraiser
It’s our birthday!
Point of Pride is turning five this year! While our official birthday is in October, we couldn’t wait to celebrate five years of supporting our international trans community. So, we’re kicking off the festivities during Pride season with a 5th Anniversary Virtual 5K!
This 5K event is more than just a celebration or a birthday party. Together, we’ll:
…celebrate our community’s resilience. Run, walk, and roll all weekend long, and know you’re joined by other trans and allied folks from around the world. By coming together as a community, we hope to be able continue on in the struggle for change and acceptance with a renewed sense of energy and purpose.
…reflect on our organization’s milestones. We’ve grown quite a bit since 2016!
- We’ve donated free chest binders and femme shapewear to 8,500+ trans folks in 80+ countries. The vast majority of recipients are trans youth, folks with disabilities, and folks living in rural/unaffirming regions.
- We’ve awarded $173,600 to trans folks in need of permanent hair removal services and gender-affirming surgery: necessary healthcare they could not otherwise afford.
- Most recently, we’ve donated $12,600+ through microgrants to those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 75% of those recipients are trans people of color.
- Still proudly an entirely volunteer-operated non-profit!
…fundraise for the future. 100% of the money raised through this fundraiser will fund our mission of providing access to health and wellness services to the most vulnerable members of our community.
Let’s get walking, running, and rolling! We even have party favors like patches, t-shirts, and medals. 🙂 Learn more and register via GiveLively, then help spread the word, and challenge some friends to join in the fun.
(If you’re a business or organization that would like to sponsor this event, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.)
On behalf of the folks we serve: it’s been an incredible five years, and we appreciate your support as we look to the next five years and beyond.
